After all of the qualifying events, the NCAA Wrestling Committee will meet to select the remaining 48 at-large qualifiers. Those will be announced March 9. Seven wrestlers (Alan Bartelli, Andrew Hochstrasser, Jason Chamberlain, Adam Hall, Levi Jones, Kurt Swartz and J.T. Felix) earned automatic berths by virtue of their finish at the Pac-10 Championships in Corvallis last weekend. Jake Swartz, Matt Casperson and Kirk Smith await their fate next Wednesday. Jake finished fourth in the Pac-10 at 174 pounds, Smith was sixth at 184 pounds and Casperson was sixth at 197 pounds.
All weight classes will consist of 33 wrestlers. The at-large selections will be made based on the following criteria: head-to-head competition; qualifying event placement; quality wins; results against common opponents; winning percentage; RPI; coaches ranking and the number of matches contested at that weight class.
