Boise State Scores 7-1 Win over Utah State

The Bronco hitting attack came alive in the late innings to give Boise State a 7-1 win over Utah State and a doubleheader sweep for the team.

Allie Crump was 3-4 with a homer and three RBI's while Tara Glover, Christina Capobianco and Devon Bridges had two hits apiece.  Aubray Zell scattered five hits through seven innings to pick up the complete game victory.  Boise State hosts Idaho State Saturday at 4 p.m. at Mountain Cove, weather permitting.

A Good Fifth Inning for Boise State

Allie Crump has singled in another run and advanced to second on a throw to home plate.  Still no one out in the Bronco fifth.

Capobianco Comes Through

Kristina Capobianco's triple has scored Kelley Caplan, who walked, and Boise State went ahead 2-1.  Then, Devon Bridges came through again with an RBI double and Erin Thorpe's team leads 3-1 lead over Utah State.

San Diego State Loses to North Carolina State

The Aztecs of the Mountain West go down to the #11 seed--ouch.

Utah State Goes Out in Front of Boise State

From hanging with #1 Florida to this:

Kelly Kanesharo has homered in the top of the second and Utah State now leads Boise State 1-0.

The teams are scoreless through one inning.

Boise State Defeats Portland State 6-5

They were able to get this one in after all; the report from Boise State was incorrect.  And it was worth waiting for, as the two teams battled to the end.

The Lady Broncos had a 5-3 lead heading into the seventh inning.  PSU scored one in their half of the inning to tie the game, then Allie Crump homered in Boise State's half to win the game in dramatic fashion.

Boise State advanced its record to 16-10.  The Broncos take on Utah State in the nightcap at Mountain Cove Field.

Spring Hills Invitational Affected by Rain

Rain has forced the cancellation of Boise State's game with Portland State and delays in the other games.  Here is the projected new schedule:

Noon- Portland State vs. Minnesota
2 p.m.- Minnesota vs. Idaho State
4 p.m.- Utah State at Boise State

Swartz Pined

Just 33 seconds into his match in the fifth round of consolation, Tony Gallago of Illinois pined Jacob Swartz.  Swartz was our last hope and now all Broncos are out of the competition.

Dallago with Takedown

Thirty seconds into the match, Dallago of Illinois leads Boise State's Jacob Swartz, 2-0.

Boise State in 49th Place at NCAA Wrestling Championships

The Broncos have 3.5 points.  What a difference a year makes.

Swartz Advances at NCAA's

Swartz is the lone Bronco still alive at the 2012 NCAA Wrestling Championships.  Jacob advanced to the fifth round of consolation with a 4-3 win over Braden Atwood of Purdue.  That's the good news.

The bad news is that Swartz has to get past first Tony Dallago of Illinois, then #1 seed Joe LeBlanc of Wyoming to attain All-America status and score team points for Boise State.

Broncos Well Back in the Pack

Preliminaries are over in the 100-yard butterfly and breaststroke and 200-yard butterfly at the 2012 NCAA Swimming Championships and no Broncos have qualified for the finals.

Brian Owen Eliminated

Boise State's Brian Owen lost a heartbreaking 6-4 decision in overtime to Cashe Quiroga of Purdue and was eliminated from the 2012 NCAA Wrestling Championships in St. Louis.
