Centerfielder Tara Glover of the Boise State softball team was named co-Mountain West Conference Player of the Year, while teammates Devon Bridges, Kellie Caplan and Aubray Zell joined her on the all-conference team.
Glover, a transfer from the University of Utah, sizzled in her debut year in Boise, sparking the Bronco offense to new heights. Her .622 batting average, .638 on-base percentage and 1,067 slugging percentage all rank second in the history of the Mountain West for conference games. Glover led the conference in hits, batting average and stolen bases (six) while ranking second in runs (17), doubles (six) and slugging percentage. Glover shares Player of the Year honors with Hayley Miles of San Diego State.
Bridges and Zell each earned their second all-conference awards, having been named All-WAC in 2011. Bridges hit .361 in Mountain West play and was second in the conference with 16 RBI's. Caplan batted .310 with eight runs and four stolen bases in conference play. Caplan had a .982 fielding percentage at second base. Zell had a 4-3 record with one save and a 3.94 ERA, striking out 24 and walking just nine. Zell was second in the conference with four complete games and third in both wins and innings pitched.
