Four Broncos Invited to Senior Bowl

A record crop of Bronco football players will be going to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama next month.

Quarterback Kellen Moore, tailback Doug Martin, safety George Iloka and defensive tackle Billy Winn all will be playing in the game January 28.

This year's group of seniors nearly matches the number of former Broncos in school history (five) that had been invited to the prestigious college all-star game prior to this year.  Wide receivers Titus Young and Austin Pettis played last year, while cornerback Kyle Wilson played in 2010, tackle Daryn Colledge was invited in 2006 and offensive lineman Matt Hill played in 2002.

Congratulations Kellen, Doug, George and Billy!  We'll be watching!

Kellen Moore Named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year

Boise State senior quarterback Kellen Moore has been honored as the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year, according to the league office.

Moore was the Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2009 and co-Offensive Player of the Year last season, in addition to being named the WAC Freshman of the Year in 2008.

TCU linebacker Tank Carder was named MWC Defensive Player of the year for the second tme, while Wyoming coach Dave Christensen was tabbed as the league's Coach of the Year.  Wyoming quarterback Brett Smith was named Freshman of the Year over Boise State wide receiver Matt Miller, who broke Austin Pettis's school record for freshman receptions.

Big East Finally Feeling Like It Wants to Make It Official

As we reported more than a month ago, Boise State has officially been accepted into the Big East Conference.  Now after much delay, there are several media reports that say the conference is about to officially announce the acceptance of Boise State and other schools.  Obviously a lot to work on behind the scenes but we stick with our original report that Boise State will be in the Big East.

More details as the situation warrants.
