Boise State #65 in First Spring Learfield Cup Standings

Boise State is ahead of Kansas, Kansas State, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Purdue, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, Pitt, and Washington State, which has 25 points so far this year.

Howard Is Headed To Eugene Again!

Marisa Howard put on a fantastic kick on win her heat going away in the women's steeplechase.  Howard will be booking a return trip to the NCAA National Championships next month.

Howard's time of 9:55.59 was fourth best on the day.

Alexandru Terpezan Finishes 25th in Qualifying in 200 Meters

Alexandru Terpezan finished 25th in qualifying in the 200 meter dash.  Only the Top 12 advance to Eugene.

Flannigan Moves On To Quarterfinals in 200

Mackenzie Flannagan, who earlier just missed qualifying for the National Championships in the 100 meters, finished 14th today in preliminaries of the 200.  Flannagan will compete in the quarterfinals tomorrow night for a chance to advance to Eugene.

Andrade Wins Heat, Punches Ticket To Nationals

Jordin Andrade won his heat in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 49.67.  That is the 2nd-fastest time at the Texas Preliminaries, and Andrade will be competing next month at the NCAA National Championships in Eugene.

Fernando Martinez of Boise State finished 18th and was eliminated.

Jordan Ward is Out in the High Jump

Jordan Ward had to bow out of the high jump competition with a best jump of 5'8".  She will finish no better than 22nd at the NCAA Preliminaries.

Flannigan 3/100th's of a second slow

Mackenzie Flannagan finished 13th today in qualifying for the women's 100-meters.  Flannagan ran a school record 11.40, just missing out on qualifying for nationals by 3/100th's of a second.

Allison Jeffries Narrowly Misses Qualifying for Nationals

Boise State pole vaulter Allison Jeffries came within an inch of heading to nationals.  Competing today at the NCAA Preliminaries in Austin, Texas, Jeffries tied for 12th with three other competitors at 13-feet, 7-inches, which broke the Boise State school record.  The top 12 from each of the two Preliminaries advance to the NCAA National Championships next month in Eugene, Oregon.

Jeffries didn't quite make the cut, as the #12 qualifier cleared the same height as Jeffries but advances because of fewer misses.
