The good news is that Felix has gotten one of his worst events out of the way, the shot put. He finished 28th out of 32 competitors in the third event of the decathlon at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
Next up in the evening session, the high jump. Kurt is seeded fifth in the field and he regularly gets 6-9 or above in this event. He jumped 6-8 3/4 at the NCAA Championships for 850 points and went on to win the National Championship. After that, the 400 meter run will concluded the first day of competition in the decathlon.
The high jump will get underway at 11 A.M. Boise time.
