Allie Ostrander visited Arkansas, Boise State and Oregon, but chose the Broncos as the place where she wanted to go to school.
It was a phone call from Boise State track coach Corey Ihmels that convinced Ostrander to go with the Blue, and makes a statement that she went with Ihmels over two track & field heavyweights. Ostrander feels Boise State is a team on the rise, and is excited to come to Boise.
Ostrander registered a time of 9:59.33 in the 3,200 meters at the Big "C" Relays in Anchorage, Alaska this year, ranking her #1 in the nation at that distance. Ostrander, a senior at Kenai Central High School, owns state marks in the 1,600 and 3,200, and her times this year in the marathon beat the boys. Ostrander also is a three-time cross country champion.
