Howard Takes Second at Hoosier Open
Marisa Howard knocked 42 seconds off her personal best to record the second-fastest time in school history in the 5000 meters to place second at the Hoosier Open today in Indiana.

Boise State Wins First Mountain West Championship
The Boise State football team jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead, and held off Fresno State to capture their first-ever Mountain West Conference title with a 28-14 win, and the first conference championship won on their home field since 1994.
The Broncos will play in a New Year's 6 Bowl--that announcement will come tomorrow afternoon. It is very likely that Boise State will play in the Fiesta Bowl but nothing is set in stone until the announcement tomorrow.

#15 Boise State Wins 10 of 12 Events on Opening Day of the Jean Freeman Swimming Invitational
Seniors Kacee Olson, Erin Kohlbeck, and Karli Kriewall were 1-2-3 in the finals of the 3-meter diving event as #15 Boise State dominated the opening day of the Jean Freeman Swimming Invitational in Minnesota.
Brittany Aoyama won the 50 freestyle in 23.17, then touched first in the 200-yard butterfly (1:59.67). Felicity Cann won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:56.49, and led a 1-2 sweep in the 200 free with a time of 1:50.70. Blake Balogh finished second to Cann in the 200 with a time of 1:51.09. Nikki Cannon (1:59.80) and Sam Wicks (2:01.18) finished 1-2 in the 200-yard backstroke and Heather Harper won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:03.36, and Whitney Jorgensen captured the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:02.93. .
The quartet of Cann, Wicks, Amelia Draney, and Jessica Bottelberghe captured the 800 freestyle relay tonight, with Jessica Bottelberghe, Sydney Johansen, Cann, and Wicks combining to win the 400 medley relay, while the team of Jessica Bottelberghe, Aoyama, Monica Bottelberghe, and Wicks finished second in the 200 free relay.
Action continues tomorrow at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
