Emma Bates, who won the 3,000 meters at the Notre Dame Invitational over the weekend, was named as the Mountain West Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Bates broke her own school record with a time of 9:11.98, and now ranks 19th in the nation in the event. Her run was the third-fastest time in Mountain West Conference history.
