Boise State Dominates Eastern Oregon Open

While many of their teammates were in El Paso competing at the prestigious UTEP Invitational, the rest of the Boise State track team took care of business at the Eastern Oregon Open yesterday.

Shannon Jacobs won titles in both the 100 meters (12.39) and long jump (17-7).  Yvonne Bennett won the 200 (25.71), while Steffanie Jordan took first in the 400 (1:00.05).  Kate Holman crossed the tape first in the 100-meter hurdles (15.72) while teammate Megan Opatz captured the 400-meter title in 1:08.52.  Nadine Russell was victorious in the hammer with a heave of 166-feet, 2-inches.


Anthony Belcher won the 200 meters with a time of 23.32 while Kyler Osbourne also won a title for the Bronco men, taking the javelin title with a toss of 177-9.


Boise State has two more prestigious meets next weekend.  Coach J.W. Hardy's team will compete in both the Oregon Relays and the Mt. SAC Relays April 19-21.
