Anthony Drmic, Derrick Marks Named Honorable Mention All-Mountain West

Boise State freshmen Anthony Drmic and Derrick Marks were named honorable mention All-Mountain West Conference, according to the league office.  

Drmic, a 6-6 guard/forward who has started 28 games for Coach Leon Rice's Broncos, set a school record for three-pointers by a freshman (54), passing Coby Karl's record of 49.  Drmic is the highest-scoring freshman in 18 years, ranking fourth on the freshman single-season list.  Anthony is the only freshman ranked in the Top 20 in the Mountain West in scoring at 11.8 points a game, third all-time for Bronco freshman.  He also leads all conference freshmen in rebounding with 4.9 per game.

Marks, a 6-3, 206-pound guard, has pleased in all 29 games, starting the last 12.  Marks is eighth in scoring by a freshman at Boise State with 272 points.  His court-to-court runner with less than a second left led Boise State to a recent victory over Colorado State.  Marks leads the team in scoring in the conference with 9.6 per game and his 60 assists ranks third all-time for a Boise State freshman.


Boise State tests #18 San Diego State in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Tournament Thursday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
