The Boise State track team had one heck of a meet last weekend and the Mountain West Conference noticed. Kurt Felix and Mele Vaisima were named the Male and Female Athletes of the Week by the league office.
Felix set a personal best (24-6.0) to win the long jump and also cleared 6-10.5 in the high jump in winning that event at the Bronco Classic. The long jump mark is the fourth-best in the history of the Mountain West Conference and 27th-best in the country this season.
Vaisima also ranks fourth in MWC history with her winning throw of 65-feet, 3.5-inches in the weight throw at the Classic. Vaisima also finished fourth in the shot put with a toss of 43-9.25.
