The Boise State basketball team roared past Portland 92-70 tonight behind a career-high 19 points and nine rebounds from Ryan Watkins. Anthony Drmic scored 17 to keep the Pilots off balance. Derrick marks scored 16 and Westley Perryman had 18 as Coach Leon Rice's team won for the fifth straight time.
Boise State never trailed and hit 26-of-33 from the charity stripe, a huge improvement from a few years ago. Portland cut the Bronco lead to 53-52 with 14:21 left on two free throws from Tanner Riley. But Boise State reponded with ad 13-2 run to put the game away.
Boise State's start of 8-0 at home is the best since they went 13-0 during the 1997-98 season.
