Going into the Simulation Football League season, it was unclear how Boise State would do against the last 10 "national champions".
Turns out they did fine. In 50 interdivisional games, Boise State won 22 of them, and most of the losses were by teams from the first part of the decade.
Not only that, but the Broncos dominated league statistics. Ian Johnson (2006) was the top running back in the league with 1,733 yards rushing as Boise State had three of the league's top rushers. Doug Martin (2010) finished with 1,690 yards and the 2009 Jeremy Avery finished with 1,573 yards. Boise State produced four of the top quarterbacks, as the 2009 and 2010 Kellen Moore tied for the title in passing yards with 3,998, and the 2008 Kellen Moore and the 2003 Ryan Dinwiddie each finished in the top five. Jeremy Childs (2007 & 2008) finished 1-2 in receiving as Boise State had seven of the top 10 receivers in the SFL.
But the Broncos did not stop there but led defenses as well. Gabe Franklin dominated interceptions with 9 as Boise State, which had five of the top six in that department. Korey Hall (2006) and Marty Tadman (2005) had five each while the 2001 Franklin and the 2005 Kyle Wilson had four each. Kyle Brotzman (172 points) and Jeremy Avery (162) were 1-2 in scoring.
