Boy, what a way to close out the regular season. Boise State scored yet another impressive win in this outstanding basketball season with a 69-65 win over San Diego State. With the win, I believe Boise State just punched a ticket to the NCAA Tourney, provided they beat the Aztecs in the opening round of the MWC Tourney.

When one team has the lead the entire game, you would expect that team to get more free throws, since they are being more aggressive. Not so, Jack. And it wasn't even close.
Fouls Cost Boise State the Road Win
Boise State, in control of the game with UNLV nearly the entire game, boasting leads as much as 10 and 12 points, unfortunately was called for a lot more fouls in Las Vegas (with their top two scorers Anthony Drmic and Derrick Marks both fouling out), and as a result, the home team is going to win the game.

Boise State One of Nine Schools To Achieve Membership In 10/20 Club Three Times In Past Decade
Boise State's achievement of reaching the 10/20 Club was the third time in school history that the Broncos have done it. Boise State also reached the elite group in 2003-04 and 2007-08. The Broncos are one of just nine schools to attain 10/20 status three times since 2003.
The other schools are: Texas (five times), BYU, Ohio State and Florida (four each), and Louisville, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
To achieve membership in the 10/20 Club, a school must win 10 or more regular-season football games and 20 or more regular-season basketball games. Playoffs, bowl games, and postseason conference tournaments do not count. Which is why membership in the 10/20 Club is elite. With the ever-growing conference championships and tournaments, it is much easier to reach 10 wins in football and 20 in basketball than it used to. Now, a team can be 16-16 and win four NIT games and get there. Hardly deserving.

Boise State Soundly Beats Colorado State 78-65
In most years, a win like tonight would be talked about for years. For the 2012-2013 Broncos it's just another in a growing list of impressive victories.
Derrick Marks and Boise State put on a spellbinding performance in dismantling second-place Colorado State 44-29 in the second half to win going away at Taco Bell Arena 78-65. Marks scored 33 of his career-high 38 points in the second half and at one point, had scored 26 of Boise State's 28 points in the period. He turned in the fifth-highest point performance in Boise State history, falling just four points shy of Ron Austin's 42, one of the oldest marks in the record book. Marks became just the third Bronco to score 30 or more points three times in a season, joining Austin (1971) and Tanoka Beard (1993). Marks scored 35 in Boise State's win over nationally-ranked Creighton.
Boise State won the game on defense and on the boards. CSU came into the game as the #1 rebounding team in the nation, but on this night the Broncos won that battle, 31-30.

Bates Shatters Own 5,000 Record; Sits 7th
Emma Bates won the 5,000 meters and blew away her own school record today at the UW Qualifier. Bates crossed the ape in 15:50.78, bettering her school mark of 16:44.06.
Bates is now 7th in the nation with one day left and very likely punched her ticket to the NCAA's.
