Broncos Lose, 76-70

The Boise State loss to Wyoming meant that the Mountain West would probably only have two teams in the NCAA's.  Now, with the Broncos losing to Utah State, the conference will probably only have one team in the NIT's.  What a difference a year makes.  The teams that are winning in conference lost badly in the non-conference games; the teams that did well out of conference (like Boise State) are losing in conference.

Ouch.

NC State with Two-Run Homer

Where the Bronco Basketball Team Stands

If Boise State can win in Logan, the Broncos would be tied with the loser of tonight's UNLV-Wyoming game for fifth place.  If they lose, they fall to a tie for sixth with Colorado State, which has already won today.

Broncos Down to Last Three Outs

North Carolina State continues to lead the Bronco softball team, 4-1, going to the top of the seventh.  Rebecca Patton has tossed a four-hitter at the Wolfpack, but she'll need to hold them down and hope her bats can come alive in the bottom of the seventh.

Krieger Stranded on Third

Boise State's Jordan Krieger got to third base in the fourth with no one out.  What was needed was a ground ball to the infield or a fly to the outfield, and Boise State could get neither (pop-up to second and a strike out).  Still 3-1 in the top of the fifth.

Bronco Gymnasts Come Through

Boise State came up with a nice road score in winning the Chicago Style Collegiate quadrangular gymnastics meet last night, giving the Broncos an 8-2 record.

Boise State finished first with a season-high 196.325 to beat out Bowling Green (194.325), North Carolina (192.075) and Illinois-Chicago (191.950).  The Broncos scored season-bests of 49.00 on beam and 49.175 on floor exercise, while also scoring 49.00 on vault and 49.150 on uneven bars.  Boise State will need to at least match those the rest of the season if they want to finally break through to the next level.

Kelsey Morris won the all-around title with a career-high 39.275.  Morris and Paige Urquhard each had 9.850 to share the balance title.  Perkins won on bars with a 9.875 and took the floor title with a 9.90.
