Shea McClellin Causes Terror in NFL Debut

Former Boise State star Shea McClellin had a sack on the first series of his first NFL exhibition game with the Chicago Bears, sacking the Denver Bronco QB.  He also clogged up the middle repeatedly, forcing his opponent to be flagged for holding, and nearly caused an interception.  Great debut for Shea in limited duty.

Felix Pulls Out of Decathlon

We have a breaking story in Idaho and unfortunately, not a good one.

Kurt Felix, who was in 12th place after Day One of the decathlon at the Summer Olympics in London, has withdrawn from competition.  Felix tweaked a hamstring during the running of the 400 meters yesterday and, although his coach indicated he would be fine, has dropped out of the London games.

Best of luck on healing, Kurt, and with the experience in London, you'll be more than prepared for 2016!  We're proud of all you've accomplished!

Bronco Volleyball Team Begins Fall Camp

Coach Shawn Garus welcomed 15 student-athletes to the opening of volleyball practice yesterday, in preparation for the opener August 24 in Seattle, Washington.  

The Lady Broncos will go through three daily training sessions to get ready for the upcoming season.  Blue Through and Through will feature a detailed look at the 2012 Broncos in the next few days.

Young Promoted to Assistant Coach

Boise State alumnus Alisha Young has been promoted to Assistant Coach of the Bronco volleyball team by head coach Shawn Garus.  Young served as a volunteer assistant last fall before being hired as director of operations this past spring.  Young replaces Skydra Orzen, who left the program for other opportunities.

Young will train the middle blockers, be in charge of the video program, assist with day-to-day operations, and help out with the team's outreach/community service activities, clinics, tournaments and camps.

Alisha was an all-conference performer and academic honoree from 2007-2010, finishing second all-time in career points with 1,271.5 and ninth in kills with 1,055.  Young set the school record for points in a season in 2010 with 524.5.
