Lohman Takes 2nd in Shot Put
Will Lohman came through in the shot, but disappointing to see senior Chase Sexton go out this way after hoping to win this event. That's a net loss of five points for Boise State and a net gain of two for Air Force. Air Force has now essentially clinched the team title.

Air Force Elevates to Fly By Boise State

Air Force, New Mexico Make Big Gains on Boise State
Without a finalist in the 200, all Boise State could do was sit and watch. What they saw was Air Force scoring nine points in the event, three over projection, and New Mexico 10, two over projection. That enabled favored Air Force to pass Boise State in the standings. Boise State's only hope is the 5,000, where they will need to make a net gain of about 21 to win the title.
The shot put and pole vault finals are not in yet. Boise State is projected to score 14 in the shot while Air Force is projected to score 20 in the pole vault.

Boise State doesn't have a finalist in either the 200 or the 5,000, where Air Force is projected to get 22 points and take a commanding lead. At this point, Blue Through and Through's projections are turning out to be accurate.
Coach Hardy of Boise State does have one surprise, so we'll see how his strategy works. He has entered Scott Foley, Drew O'donoghue McDonald, Allan Schroeder and Sawyer Bosch in the 5,000. Men's 400-Meter Hurdles Results
Well, a mixed bag for Boise State. Rolando Trammel obviously had a problem and finished eighth. But Bret Scheve picked up the slack as the freshman scored four points. Together, that is four points lower than expected for Boise State. We hope Rolando is OK. Air Force scored two points lower so a net gain of two points for Air Force. New Mexico scored 5 points, one less than projected. So Boise State still leads but the margin is shrinking with each event.
