George Ivanov had a quick trip at the NCAA's.  Tonight, Ivanov lost 11-4 in consolation to John Nicholson of Old Dominion.

Brian Owen (Boise State) 9-2 won by decision over Nathan Pennesi (West Virginia) 29-10 (Dec 2-1) 

Ihnen Beats Swartz 3-2

Jacob could not mount an attack and falls by a single point to #7 seed Josh Ihnen.


Swartz will meet the winner of the match between Braden Atwood of Purdue and Brad Dieckhause of Northern Illinois in Consolation later.

Boise State Women's Tennis Team Cancels Matches

The Broncos were supposed to play a pair of matches this weekend in California but inclimate traveling weather has forced cancellation.  Boise State enters Mountain West play next week in Albuquerque with matches against New Mexico and TCU.

Swartz About Ready to Go in Third Round

Jacob Swartz is about to see if he can win a third match at the 2012 NCAA Wrestling Championships.  He will wrestle in about 10 minutes.

Boise State Finishes 16th in 200 Freestyle Relay

The Bronco swimming team finished last in the "B" final of the 200-yard freestyle relay tonight at the 2012 Swimming & Diving Championships.  Boise State gets two points for their effort and Amber Boucher and Stephanie North still have a shot in a couple of events to get points.

All Four Bronco Wrestlers Have to Wait a Bit

They are doing the Championship Round first, and Jacob Swartz (184 pounds) was the only winner so even he won't be wrestling for a while.  The other three Broncos are in Consolation and it looks like they will wrestle after the Championship Round.

Broncos Defeat Minnesota 2-1

Devon Bridges homered in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings, and then the Broncos won it with two hits and a ground ball, when the Gopher catcher obstructed the plate.

Out at Mountain Cove, the Lady Broncos and Minnesota are tied at 1 after seven.  Extra innings here we come.

One win so far for the Mountain West as #5 seed New Mexico downed Long Beach.

Swartz Advances to Third Round

Jacob will meet #7 seed Josh Ihnen of Nebrasa tonight in the third round of the 184-lb. classification at the 2012 Wrestling Championships in St. Louis.

Chriswell Losing Match

Brent lost badly, 12-3, to Cayle Byers of Oklahoma State in the second round match at 197 pounds.

A close match but Swartz defeated Garringer 4-2 and will advance to third round.

Disappointment for Boise State in 50-Yard Freestyle

Boise State came into the NCAA Championships with two of the Top 15 in the country, Amber Boucher and Stephanie North.  The trials are over in the 50 Free and Amber finished 39th, North 47th and Stevie Hughey 63rd.
