Awaiting Final Results in 1,650 Freestyle

The first final of the final day is in the 1,650 freestyle, where Boise State was projected to score 51 points to 17 for San Diego State.  Nothing has gone that way for the Bronco ladies this week, but hopefully the marathon freestylers can get it done.

The Mountain West is keeping the final results secret for now...

Kohlbeck 2nd, Marthens 6th and Kriewall 7th in Platform Diving Preliminaries

If the swimmers had performed as well as the divers this week, Boise State would likely be coming home with the conference trophy.

San Diego State Will Upset Boise State in Mountain West Swimming & Diving Championships

The huge win that was supposed to be will not happen.  A combination of Nevada taking tons of points from Boise State, key Broncos not entered in their specialties this week, and sub-standard performances will keep the team from winning in San Antonio.

Based on this morning's preliminaries, plus their 36.5-point lead going in to the day, we now project that San Diego State will win the championship.  Our congratulations to the champions!

Whitney Jorgensen Not in 200 Butterfly

Boise State's Whitney Jorgensen, the #6 seed in the Mountain West in the 200-yard butterfly, was not entered in today's preliminary, a loss of 13 points to Boise State at a time when they are down over 40.  The Broncos already lost 20 points when #1 seed Brittany Aoyama was not entered in the 200 free.
