Tyler Shoemaker Ties Austin Pettis for Bronco Record

Shoe with three touchdown catches tonight has tied Austin Pettis for the school record with 14 TD catches in a season.

Boise State Basketball Team Destroys Cal Northridge 103-61

Thomas Bropleh and Igor Hadziomerovic led five Broncos in double figures with 20 and18 points, respectively, as Boise State cruised to a 103-61 victory over Cal Northridge this afternoon in Taco Bell Arena.

Anthony Drvic had 14 points for Coach Leon Rice's team while Westly Perryman and Derrick Marks contribued 11 and Ryan Watkins had 10 points and a team-leading 9 rebounds.

The Broncos advanced to 3-0 on the season with the victory.

Nesselhuf Named to All-Mountain West Team

Breann Nesselhuf, premier setter for Boise State, has been named to the All-Mountain West volleyball team.  Nesselhuf was named to the All-WAC team the past two years.

Nesselhuf is the #5 all-time setter at Boise State with 3,055.  She has 780 this season along with 244 points, 197 kills, 18 aces, 256 digs and 54 blocks.  For her carer, Breann has 543.5 points, 368 kills, 58 aces, 665 digs and 223 blocks.  She is the fifth Bronco to top 3,000 career assists and just the second in school history to do it in three seasons.

Congrats Breann on this fantastic award--we will miss you!

Boise State Eliminated by TCU in MWC Volleyball

Blue Through and Through loves to be the first in Idaho to tell you about Boise State-we don't like it when it's bad news, however.

TCU eliminated Boise State this afternoon in the opening round of the Mountain West volleyball tournament in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Final count:  25-19, 25-22, 27-25.

Boise State Blasts Utah of the Pac-12 80-61

Two years ago, the Pac-12 chose Utah for expansion over Boise State.  Yet it is now obvious that they made the wrong choice as Boise State has defeated Utah in nearly every sport since then.  


Tonight Leon Rice's new-look basketball team put the metal down 80-61 for an impressive win over the Utes in Taco Bell Arena.  Anthony Drmic poured in 23 points and Ryan Watkins and Drew Wiley had 11 each as Boise State scored the biggest win over a Pac-12 Conference team in school history.  The previous mark was 76-65 over Oregon State in 1977.


Boise State advanced to 2-0 in what was supposed to be a rebuilding season.  The Broncos host Cal State Northridge this Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Arena.

Boise State Faces TCU Friday in MWC Volleyball Championships

Boise State will take on #3 seed TCU in the opening round of the Mountain West Conference Volleyball Tournament.  The Lady Broncos will take to the court Friday afternoon at 2:30. in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Lady Broncos Travel to ISU

The Boise State women's basketball team plays on the road for the first time this year.  If they hope to have a good season, they'll have to become a good road team.  Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) night.

Boise State Races to 39-20 Halftime Lead Over Utah

Utah, which was chosen by the Pac-12 to join the conference over Boise State, is not faring well so far in the first half.  Coach Leon Rice's team leads 39-20.  Anthony Drmic has 14 first-half points for the Broncos.

Boise State continues to lead 54-26 with 12 minutes left in the game.  Drmic now with 16 points and Ryan Watkins has 11.

Moore Named Finalist for Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award

Boise State senior quarterback Kellen Moore has been named as one of five finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, given annually to the nation's top collegiate quarterback.


Robert Griffin III of Baylor, Landry Jones from Oklahoma, Andrew Luck of Stanford and Brandon Weeden of Oklahoma State are the other finalists.


Candidates must be completing their college eligibility or be a fourth-year junior, on schedule to graduate with his class.  Eligible candidates are judged on character, citizenship, scholastic achievement, leadership and athletic accomplishments.

Moore, is also a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien and Maxwell Awards, has completed 220-297 passes for 2,549 yards and 31 touchdowns through the first nine games of the season.   Moore already has broken the NCAA record for most wins as a starter (46), ranks fourth in career touchdown passes (130) and is seventh in collegiate history in career passing yards (13,416).

The Golden Arm Award will be presented December 9.  Past winners include Colt McCoy of Texas (2009), Matt Ryan of Boston College (2007), Matt Leinart (USC, 2005), Eli Manning (Mississippi, 2003) and Peyton Manning (Tennessee, 1997)
